Anki Blomqvist is a multidisciplinary artist based in Österlen, Sweden.
After many years in the creative field of digital photography - where ideas mostly are formed in the mind - she felt a longing for a closer relationship to the working material.
Through the tactile and slow aspects of oil color painting she examines her own level of presence and her perception of reality.
The oftentime colorful organic abstract shapes are merely suggestions of a real form and are the product of an almost - but not entirely - intuitive process. From this dialogue - with coincidence - sometimes also textile pieces and ideas for installations form.
She belives that todays artificial lifestyle furthermore disconnects humanity from our origin, nature, each other, our inner selves, purpose and the holy. While her works mostly are created for her own journey, they offer an opportunity to introspection for the viewer as well.
